Within our Corporate Research & Development team located in Madrid – Leprino is seeking a Scientist, Cheese R&D (or Associate Scientist, Cheese R&D based on candidate experience) to move our organization to an even larger level of dairy ingredient and nutrition growth! At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $65,000 and $94,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 5%.
- Performs project plans by identifying project scope, defining success criteria, and conducting risk analysis related in functional area of new product development and manufacturing process development to enhance the reliability of the process.
- Conducts Feasibility Studies by researching market demands, researching if the process is well‐defined/proven, and defining the project’s Return of Investment.
- Assists with developing the product or process, testing, and validation.
- Coordinates technical/ research projects and resources with manufacturing plants and third-party labs.
- Aids in the development of new testing protocol and methodology.
- Performs project experiments including bench‐top, pilot plant and production plant trials.
- Runs Design of Experiment (DOE), using software if needed, and completes experiments based on conditions identified in DOE software.
- Collects, processes, and analyzes data using software; then interprets and summarizes results.
- Improve final product performance characteristics, improve costs in manufacturing products, and/or alter characteristics of final products.
- Supports research projects and assignments in all phases includes planning, preparing conducting, and analyzing all stages of product/process development in addition to supporting relevant showings and delivering presentations to internal and external customers, up to and including senior leadership.
- Creates, changes (updates) and maintains SOP, manufacturing specifications and Process Description.
- Upon request, attends technical conference for continued development of technical knowledge.
- Demonstrates gained experience and knowledge by providing guidance and technical knowledge to internal and external customers.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
- A Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in the food industry.
- The ability to travel up to 30%.
